Jewish groups on social media have issued a call to action to members of the tribe and have circulated a petition to ask Netflix to reconsider this ‘Blood Libel’ film entitled Farha that some fear will incite violence against Jews.
Okay, so here goes…
Dear Netflix,
Here is what I know.
I know this letter will likely fall on deaf ears.
I know that this film is being promoted as “The movie Israel does not want you to see” (Ooh, the intrigue).
I know every Jew will be screaming that this will fire up every ignorant, anxiety-filled child of poor parenting, and even poorer schooling, to channel all of their angst and self-loathing onto one ill-fated scapegoat.
But all of the “open-minded” liberal folk who know all about Israel from… well, they just do, and not just because grandpa regaled them with tales of hunched-over, horn-laden moneylenders with big noses. No sir. Give them a little more credit. This is not about Jews. How dare you even imply such a thing!
It’s about that shifty little “colonizing” country with the smallest landmass of any colonizers that ever colonized before them. It’s almost diabolical how Israel manages to be the only normal country with those kooky human rights, gay rights, women’s rights, etc. right there in the midst of numerous radical Muslim regimes that have been indoctrinating their children for centuries with what would otherwise be some outlandishly implausible beliefs.
All this movie will do is add a level of fertilizer to an ages-old campaign that has been impressively gaining traction over the past 3 years.
Jews are not screaming because they are afraid of the truth. Any intelligent human knows that the attacks and subsequent justifications are already as one-sided as they can be, among university students and the remnants of an ever-dwindling audience of MSNBC, The View, Hollywood award shows, and the like.
Netflix, until recently has shown some semblance of wisdom in the partisan media game.
This movie will claim to be “inspired by” a true story, which is another way of saying “not exactly true”. In fact, one could easily surmise that the tale providing inspiration is being used in reverse, and that the actual story involved terrorists abusing Jewish hostages. There are certainly more “true accounts” of this than anything they can drum up. Ah, but that’s not going to sell! After all, until recently, Islamic militant groups were renowned for their creativity in the world of barbarism, and their innovative methods, not only of pure depravity, but for the ability to perform the most vile acts of inhumanity, before an applauding public, and shout it proudly from the rooftops.
But then, October 7th happened, and what was self-displayed on social media was so abhorrent and monstrous, that the liberal world began grasping for ways to explain how the millions of people to whom our respective countries had opened their doors could be cheering such atrocity.
Enter the stupendously-financed Anti-Israel PR machine. Finances, mind you, that could have significantly improved the quality of life for citizens of Gaza, but as every good Palestinian knows, is infinitely better spent on ‘Jihad’. Jihad, incidentally, is Arabic for “Kill all Jews and Jew sympathizers but don’t stop till everyone who thinks differently, or even moderately, is dead, and commandeer everything they’ve built, without having contributed a single meaningful benefit to this, or any society we’ve inhabited since the dawn of our existence.” But I’m just paraphrasing.
Laughing in the face of civilization, their spokespeople realized they could have their cake and eat it too. They could commit any and all shameful acts, pat each other on the back, spit in the face of every Jew (except the weak-minded, self-hating, liberal ones that could be useful in the short-term), and then appear on Western media denying and/or excusing it. There’s a word for this in just about every language, but none in English that is impactful enough to denote the level of repugnance of someone who could brazenly turn around and claim that the savagery they so proudly displayed, was not committed BY them, but TO them.
Unlike every movie in the history of film, where a schoolyard bully terrorizes the erudite schoolchildren, but when caught by the teacher, pretends to be the victim, only a truly disturbed observer would claim the children deserved it because their academic proficiency led to feelings of inadequacy in the monster. But there sure seem to be a lot of them.
Anyone can visit Israel and observe both sides. The truth will find them. But not everyone knows the magnitude of the Islamic marketing machine and corresponding terror budget. They’ve been told Jews control the media, which once again is just too ironic for anyone with one eye and half a brain to fathom. So, I don’t think any number of signatures will replace the number of Dirham surreptitiously circulating in your stratosphere. Those of us who have experienced first-hand, the psychopathy of this Islamist, Jew annihilator consortium, know that it ends regrettably for everyone. Even those who believe it’s not about Jews, but just about Israel.
