About the Author
Mike Benhaim is a writer, DJ, and self-professed “good Jewish boy”. Equal parts soulful
storyteller and mischievous mensch, he’s the kind of guy who can turn any unfortunate
situation into an amusing philosophical reflection. Spinning vinyl with one hand while
turning the pages of Jewish history books with the other, Benhaim grew up in Montreal
juggling prayers, punchlines, and pop hits in a world where Friday night dinners were
sacred, and mixtapes were love letters.
Mike’s debut book, Memoirs of a Good Jewish Boy, isn’t just a stroll down memory lane
— it’s a dance through identity, culture, and chutzpah. A master of editing his life as
much as his manuscript, the author’s voice is warm, witty, and always hunting for the
perfect sentence. Benhaim’s story is a wild ride through awkward adolescence with a
Sephardic father and Ashkenazi mother, and a healthy dose of Jewish guilt.
Mike’s storytelling bridges generations, inviting readers to laugh and reflect, while
coming to terms with what really matters most in the end. Memoirs of a Good Jewish
Boy is his first full-length book — a spirited journey through self-discovery, the choices
we make, and the people the people that shape our lives.
When first asked “What is a Good Jewish Boy?”, Benhaim replied,
“It’s just like a good Catholic boy, only with more rules and kosher food.”

Jews fear Netflix’s ‘Farha’ will lead to increased anti-semitism
Jihad, incidentally, is Arabic for “Kill all Jews and Jew sympathizers but don’t stop till everyone who thinks differently, or even moderately, is dead, and commandeer everything they’ve built, without having contributed a single meaningful benefit to this, or any society we’ve inhabited since the dawn of our existence.” But I’m just paraphrasing.
