About the Author

Mike Benhaim is a writer, DJ, and self-professed “good Jewish boy”. Equal parts soulful
storyteller and mischievous mensch, he’s the kind of guy who can turn any unfortunate
situation into an amusing philosophical reflection. Spinning vinyl with one hand while
turning the pages of Jewish history books with the other, Benhaim grew up in Montreal
juggling prayers, punchlines, and pop hits in a world where Friday night dinners were
sacred, and mixtapes were love letters.

Mike’s debut book, Memoirs of a Good Jewish Boy, isn’t just a stroll down memory lane
— it’s a dance through identity, culture, and chutzpah. A master of editing his life as
much as his manuscript, the author’s voice is warm, witty, and always hunting for the
perfect sentence. Benhaim’s story is a wild ride through awkward adolescence with a
Sephardic father and Ashkenazi mother, and a healthy dose of Jewish guilt.
